PAB is a laboratory for the production and analysis of proteins and peptides, and therefore has the following equipment:
- Bioreactor;
- Liquid chromatography systems (HPLC e FPLC);
- Surfece plasmon ressonance system;
- Spectrophotometers and Fluorimeter;
- Electrophoresis systems;
In addition to these equipment located in the PAB, we have access to a variety of equipment available at CENABIO or in laboratories at the Health Sciences Center – UFRJ, including:
- Six NMR spectrometers (400-900 MHz);
- Circular dichroism spectrophotometer;
- Mass spectrometers;
- Dynamic light scattering spectrophotometer;
These are the activities developed to external users:
- Design and production of recombinant proteins;
- Analysis by spectroscopy: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Circular Dichroism, Fluorescence, Dynamic Light Scattering;
- Analysis by Gel Electrophoresis;
- Analysis by HPLC;
- Preparation of competent bacteria for recombinant expression of proteins;
- Repair and training for liquid protein chromatography systems
