Biosafety Coordination

The mission of the Biosafety Coordination at CENABIO is to ensure a safe and healthy
environment for all activities conducted. Our key responsibilities include:

1. Standardization and Monitoring: establishing standards and monitoring biosafety-related activities at CENABIO;
2. Waste Management: implementing guidelines in accordance with current legislation for UFRJ’s waste management programs;
3. Awareness and Education: promoting biosafety awareness actions within teaching, research, extension, and innovation among the academic community;
4. Dissemination and Information: creating and distributing informational materials on biosafety;
5. Periodic Training: providing regular biosafety training for faculty, technical staff, and the CENABIO community;
6. Communication: maintaining a communication channel with the Biosafety Coordination of CCS/UFRJ to ensure the application of best practices.

Our commitment is to ensure that everyone at CENABIO can conduct their activities safely and in accordance with the highest biosafety standards.
