The mission of the Biosafety Coordination at CENABIO is to ensure a safe and healthy
environment for all activities conducted. Our key responsibilities include:
- Standardization and Monitoring: establishing standards and monitoring biosafety-related activities at CENABIO;
- Waste Management: implementing guidelines in accordance with current legislation for UFRJ’s waste management programs;
- Awareness and Education: promoting biosafety awareness actions within teaching, research, extension, and innovation among the academic community;
- Dissemination and Information: creating and distributing informational materials on biosafety;
- Periodic Training: providing regular biosafety training for faculty, technical staff, and the CENABIO community;
- Communication: maintaining a communication channel with the Biosafety Coordination of CCS/UFRJ to ensure the application of best practices.
