Professor Emiliano Medei and his collaborator Oscar Moreno Loaiza, from the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, recently published an article in the American journal Nature Cardiovascular Research in collaboration with the CENABIO team. The work was featured on the cover of the March issue of the journal, see the here.
The article demonstrates that activation of the IL-1beta receptor signaling cascade is a component directly related to the induction of Atrial Fibrillation, which could be a very promising path for the development of treatments for this disease.
